MUST BE A BLONDE: SUMMER BEERS WE LOVE

San Diego is not only home to BLNDN HQ, but also some of the most famous beer masters in the country. Beer from San Diego breweries can be seen stocked on grocery shelves across the United States, and (lucky for us), a few of them are just up the street!

And while we do our best to watch our girlish figures (we try), there's nothing wrong with enjoying a shandy in the summer time. Our favorite? Fittingly, we like our beer like we like our hair; strong and blonde.

Here are our favorite Blonde brews from our neighborhood breweries.

AZTEC BREWERY | Vista, CA

El Dorado Blonde: A golden ale inspired by the mythical Spanish city of gold. Crisp, clean, easy to drink brew with a touch of wheat malt character and balanced hop bitterness. Very close to a true Kolsch style. Slight grapefruit hop character from Cascade hops. Light and refreshing.

MISSION BREWERY | San Diego, CA

Mission Blonde: A Kolsch-style ale with the color of a pilsner and the character of an ale, the Mission Blonde is endowed with an authentic Kolsch yeast strain for fruitiness that compliments the blend of noble hops.

Bombshell Blonde: A Kolsch style ale that's nutty, spicy and very refreshing.

OCEANSIDE ALE WORKS

Buccaneer Blonde: A balanced light-bodied ale with small amounts of honey add to this ale's lager-like quality.

SAN DIEGO BREWING COMPANY

Grantville Gold:  A departure from the average American Blonde Ale, Grantville Gold is an easy drinking pale gold ale that exhibits many characteristics of a classic German Pilsner. Generous doses of noble German hops paired with Kölsch Ale yeast and Pilsner malt give this beer a crisp, clean taste with plenty of floral fruity aroma and a dry finish.

What are your favorite Blondes? We'd love to hear (and try!) Remember; drink responsibly.

xx,

Team BLNDN
